Jerry Einhaus, Jr
Jerry Einhaus Jr. was born on September 4, 1976 in Seneca, IL. He still lives in Seneca with his wife, Kristine, and two children, Haley and Kevin. Jerry has grown up around racing, with his dad, Jerry Sr., racing in 1973 and 1974. Jerry had been around the racetracks since he was 7 years old. When Jerry was 12, he got his feet wet in racing, running a season of go-carts in Norway, Il.Jerry’s first full season of stock-car racing began in 1993, when he and his dad put together a Street Stock car to race at the Grundy County Speedway. Jerry raced half the season when he moved up that same year to the Modified Street Stock division, which later became the Mid-Am division. That first year racing, Jerry scored 2 top five finishes and 5 top ten finishes.
With the continuing support of his family and sponsors, Jerry continued to race in the Mid-Am division at Grundy during the 1994-1997 racing seasons, earning himself 6th, 4th, 8th, and 3rd place finishes those years. It was in 1998 in the Mid-Am division where Jerry earned his first racing Track Championship.
That year, he scored 2 feature wins, 13 top five, and 17 top ten finishes. One of his highlights from that year was the night he earned a “Clean Sweep”; setting fast time, and winning the Trophy Dash, Heat and Feature races.
In 1999, Jerry decided not to participate in a points race, but instead he traveled to different tracks in the Midwest to experience new competition and challenges. His travels earned him 8 top ten finishes, wins at Grundy County Speedway and Illiana Motor Speedway, and a second place finish at South Bend Raceway.
Jerry took the following two years off of racing to get married and remodel his home, but with the continuing support of his family and his wife, he got back into racing in 2002. He competed again in the Mid-Am division at Grundy, finishing 3rd in points. Even with the very competitive filed of cars, Jerry was able to earn 5 wins, 9 top five and 13 top ten finishes, as well as 3 Fast Qualifier awards.
Racing in the Mid-Am division continued for the next three seasons. In those three seasons, Jerry earned 2 two more Track Championships in the Mid-American division, in 2003 and 2005. Jerry’s greatest season ever happened in 2005, where he dominated the highly competitive class of cars, never losing thepoints lead all season. That year, he won the Feature event 10 out of 17 nights, and set fast time 13 of those nights.
With the support of his family, crew, sponsors and car owner, Jerry moved up to the Late Model division at Grundy for the 2006 and 2007 racing seasons. His efforts in the most competitive division at the speedway earned him 1 feature win, 10 top five and 20 top ten finishes for the two seasons. Jerry was named “Rookie of the Year” in the Late Model division in 2006.
Jerry puts his heart and soul in racing, and his three Track Championships prove that. He is always looking to improve, never willing to settle, and has a very competitive drive in him. Having accomplished so much at his home track, Jerry’s goal for the 2008 racing season is to compete for the Rookie of the Year title, and maybe even the championship in the ASA Late Model Series Northern Division.
